Company Statement

It is with deep regret and sadness that Io Astronomy has been forced to cease trading as of the 11th April 2015 due to an agreement dispute with Altair Astro Limited, who left us with no option but to close. This hostile dispute was sparked by our recent move into equatorial mount tuning and telescope upgrades, which was proving a success.

The last two weeks have been spent completing existing orders and repairs, and as of the 1st April 2015 the webstore was disabled for new business transactions to protect customers and other suppliers.

No other new orders were processed during this time.

Looking after our customers has always been paramount, and we have personally informed and supported all those that had outstanding orders, all of which have been properly processed. No customers were therefore adversely affected by our cessation. Creditors were informed as of 13th April 2015 in accordance under the Companies Act 2006, and the execution of this retail closure meant a minimal impact to the UK Astronomy Industry as a whole.

Valid product warranties will be honoured by their respective manufacturers.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their business and loyal support over the past two years, and our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience caused.
